Today marks 10th anniversary of Green Day’s American Idiot

21st of September marks 10-year anniversary of Green Day’s American Idiot (yeah, time flies!). With no doubt, this album opened new wide doors to Californian trio, especially with ‘Boulevard Of Broken Dreams’, which climbed No.2 in Billboard pop charts! Nevertheless, the track ‘American Idiot’ is still considered to be an anthem in the pop-punk music scene scoring number 1 in Kerrang! punk countdown (from my own experience)! This track is always great to listen to. Remember the times when you just sit in your room listening to cassette player? Same follows for ‘Holiday’ and ‘Jesus Of Suburbia’, which in fact, always made you think why are there three songs put together? But, the song that is always thought about when talking about this legend album, personally, is ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’. This song is great in the way it differentiates all quick songs with its acoustic guitar start and getting heavier by the end at the same time containing a deep meaning, which is also emphasised in the music video.

Whether, you were obsessed with American Idiot or it was just a great album to listen to in your free time, all of us were part of making its history and making it one of the best albums ever released. If you still don’t agree, well, it is probably a great time to remind you! Check out the videos for ‘American Idiot’, ‘Holiday’ and ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends’.
